These Heavy Duty 15 knot windsocks are suitable for exposed high wind areas.
They are ideal for smaller air strips, helicopter pads and any site where the wind direction needs to be known by emergency services. As well as aviation use they are installed on industrial sites where hazardous gases are used or stored.
They are made from hi visibility nylon fabric, with three reflective stripes and come complete with cable ties.
Our windsocks comply with FAA standards; a 15-knot wind will fully extend the windsock. A 3-knot breeze will cause the windsock to orient itself according to the wind.
Dimensions are; diameter at throat = 340 mm and length 1400 mm

Characteristics
5.1.3 The windsock should be in the form of a truncated cone made of fabric and should have
a length of not less than 3.6 m and a diameter, at the larger end, of not less than 0.9 m. It should
be coloured light orange or white and constructed so that it gives a clear indication of the
direction of surface wind and a general indication of wind speed when seen from a height of 300
m (1000 ft).
